Fans of the show have grown accustomed to picking up their telephone and scroll through social media when loading into games or swapping manners, so the quicker speeds are a nice treat. While playing the Xbox Series X, I never needed to wait longer than a few seconds to get into a game. Navigating through the MyCareer menu, hitting on last, and immediately being put on the court felt like magic. Overall, the load speeds of the next-gen consoles create 2K21 a better experience. Hardcore players are used to marathoning games, and these snappy load times make everything easier. Even loading into the game's online manners, which are notoriously slow before.

NBA 2K21's images get a facelift in its own next-gen version. The lighting is better, and the faces look much more lifelike. A few of the characters in cutscenes still look somewhat tough, but the players themselves look better than ever. As far as mechanics, 2K21 doesn't reinvent the wheel with its next-gen edition. However, the developers used this opportunity to bring some more unique animations to the game. Including some new cartoons for alley-oops, that can be extremely satisfying to pull away. Additionally, I felt like dribbling and buy mt nba 2k21 ball motion proved just easier overall when playing on Xbox Series X.
